*Marlene Palagyi is a recognised talent on the Central Coast art scene, having taken up her life-long interest in painting at age 58 when she made the decision to seriously pursue her passion.
*Her art has evolved through acrylics and pastels to the soft translucency of watercolours, under the influence of many artists. She is an enthusiastic member of the Central Coast Art Society and the Central Coast Watercolour Society, and benefits from their many workshops and tutorials.
*Marlene is developing a style which reflects her passion for the light, colour and textures of nature, and has found acceptance and praise for her work in exhibitions on the Central Coast. She now teaches Beginners classes and conducts workshops for local art groups.Marlene won the People's Choice award at the CCAS 2014 Summer Exhibition with "Against The Odds". She was awarded a" highly commended" for her entry at the Grandma Moses Exhibition in 2015, after winning the watercolour section in 2013. In the 2016 Exhibition,she won first prize (watercolour) for "Summer Breeze", and received a Highly Commended for "Avoca After The Storm",in2018 "Highly Commended for " Silos at Yarralumla"..She has been hung in the Gosford Art Prize in 2015 and sold her work titled " IN THE SWIM"As invited artist at the CCWS Easter exhibition in 2015, she won People's Choice award for " Tall Ship".
*She won The Royal Oaks Art Prize at the Cessnock Springtime Art Fair 2017 for " Valley View Morpeth ", The William Dobell Watercolour Prize for " Winter Morning " At Wangi 2018 and People's Choice for " Snow Owl" at The CCAS Winter Exhibition in Gosford 2018." Snow Owl " also won 1st prize at the Women in Art Exhibition at The Entrance 2019.
